Born October 6, 1861 in the city of Derbent. His parents, brother and sisters by the time of his admission to the St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers lived in the city of Baku. Fortunat Gut graduated with honors from the St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers in 1884. For many years he worked as an architect in various cities of the Russian Empire. In 1907, Fortunat Gut moved to Baku and took the post of Baku provincial engineer. According to the projects of the architect, many buildings were built in the city of Baku. The architect died in 1915.
