The two-storey residential building was built in 1887 according to the design of the German architect Nicolai August von der Nonne (16.06.1835 – 13.08.1908). The building is located at the intersection of Bul-Bul Avenue (former Bolshaya Morskaya Street), 1 and Neftchilar Avenue (former Embankment of Emperor Alexander II), 127. The building was built on two more floors in the 1950s. Due to its angular position in the planning structure of the historical center of the city, the house is one of the main volumetric building elements and plays an important role in urban development. The residential building is an architectural monument and is protected by the state.
